Eavestrough Installation Winnipeg

Eavestrough, Soffit &Fascia Installation :

Your eavestroughs (also known as gutters) are nearly as crucial as your roof when it comes to preventing water damage and maintaining the condition of your home. They’re responsible for draining the water off of your home; if they get backed up, the dammed up water can leak into your walls, damage your shingles and lead to mold and mildew. Gutters can break due to ice or debris buildup and require repairs or replacement.

Steps :

1. Place a ladder under the area you are installing the downspout. Take a Measure of 4 inches from the end corner of the gutter and make a mark on the bottom of the gutter .

2. Drill a hole in the bottom of the gutter to a  4-inch and mark with a 1-inch hole saw to drill it. Center the connector around the hole and trace the outside of the connector with pencil.

3. Cut the tracing for connecting with a pair of sheet metal cutters. Place the connector in the hole with the lip of the connector on the inside of gutter.

4. Apply aluminum sealant around the inside of the gutter and the connector flange with a caulking gun.

5. Attach the first elbow to the connector. Make the elbow to the connector with one sheet metal screw. The elbow will slide around the connector under the gutter. Place the second elbow against the house 6 inches below the bottom of the first elbow.

6. Start Cutting a piece of straight downspout with a hacksaw according to your measurement.

7. Cut a straight piece of downspout to the measurement with a hacksaw,Insert the downspout into the wall elbow and secure them together with two sheet metal screws.

8. Place downspout straps to the house every 10 feet. Place the first strap 2 feet from ground level and secure the strap to the house behind the down spout with one screw. 

9. Place a splash block on the ground under the downspout to direct the rainwater away from the house.
